We are pleased to announce that the recipient of the first Smith-Pokorny Award (2026) is Dr. Takuma Morimoto. The award, which was established by ICVS to recognise scientists at an early stage of their careers, was named in honour of the outstanding contributions of Vivianne C. Smith and Joel Pokorny to the field of colour vision.

The ICVS 2026 conference will take place between August 14th to 18th in Brighton, UK. We invite abstract applications for presentations on any aspect of human or animal colour vision. The submission deadline for abstracts is 17th April 2026. Please submit your abstract via our abstract submission form [icvs2026.org] on the conference website [icvs2026.org].
The 2026 Verriest Medal will be awarded to Professor Keiji Uchikawa at the 28th Symposium of the International Colour Vision Society (ICVS) to be held at the University of Sussex in Brighton in 2026. The award was established in 1991 in memory of the founder of the Society, Dr. Guy Verriest, and honours outstanding contributions in the field of colour vision.
